An Update on the BC Wildfire Situation

If you read my blog a couple of weeks ago about the smoke in the Okanagan Valley, you might be interested to know how things are at present.

There are no fires close to us, as of this morning.  The biggest fire is up north between Kamloops and Prince George.  This one does impact the Highway between Lillooet and Cache Creek (Highway 99).  For any of you who hope to drive from Whistler through to the Okanagan, you will need to change your route plans.  This highway is closed at present due to the huge forest fire which is still not under control.

The good news is we are experiencing hardly ANY smoke over Okanagan Lake now.  Of course, that could change at any time, due to wind movements.  But currently it is 28 degrees, heading to 32 degrees today, and the air is clear and clean!  It’s hot!!  Yippeee!
